The Institute will hold its fourth annual Conference
in Boston, Massachusetts, October 15-17, 2004. The Conference
retains our highly successful theme "Building Bridges - Share
Our Similarities, Celebrate Our Differences." Building Bridges
2004 continues the groundbreaking effort to bring together people
from a number of communities who share many common concerns and
several common opponents - ignorance and intolerance foremost
among them. You will gain powerful insights into how to live your
life more successfully, with less fear and more joy. Our programming
benefits from the diversity of the audiences being served, which
means you'll have more opportunities to learn how to avoid the
pitfalls that too often accompany a relationship choice outside
the norm. You can custom design a set of sessions, featuring speakers
of the highest quality, that will meet your most important needs
for information, techniques, and ideas that will make it easier
to explore and practice intimate relationships of your choice,
whatever form they take (see below for examples). Equally important
are the many opportunities for you to interact and network personally
with members of various nontraditional communities to share experiences,
discover common ground, and learn from each other. Unlike other
conferences which primarily focus only on specific communities,
Building Bridges seeks the broadest possible participation from
all communities who experience oppression and intolerance because
of their relationship configurations or practices, which are often
closely linked to sexual identity, orientation, and core beliefs.
Each community brings a particular history and approach to the
process of thriving in a world where relationship prejudice still
exists as a powerful force. Building Bridges helps you benefit
from that diverse pool of experience in a manner offered by no
other major event. For more information on The Institute for the

THE ART OF BEING
Founded by Alan Lowen in 1987, The Art of Being provides workshops,
courses and training, as well as transformational vacations where
people can learn the art of being; where they can find the experiences
and education that reconnect them with their feelings and open
their hearts to restore trust in life; where they can learn to
embrace all that comes with the human journey and open to the
teaching gifts of life and death; where they can become playful,
caring, free of sexual shame and fear, and honoring of their male
and female nature; where they can learn to be fulfilled in being
